How to create a class or course registration form online

A registration form for a course has two jobs: collect the details you need and stop at the number of places you have.

What to ask

  • Name and email (collected automatically by a booking page)
  • Level or prior experience
  • Anything you need to prepare, such as dietary needs for a workshop with food
  • How they heard about you

Use the class, not just a form

If people register for a dated session, set it up as a class with a capacity. The page shows places left, stops at the limit, and sends confirmations and reminders. A plain form cannot do that.

For a course that runs on fixed dates, add each date to the timetable, or describe the run of dates in the class description.

When it fills up

Turn on the waitlist: people can join when the class is full, and the first person waiting is emailed and given time to claim a place if someone cancels.

FAQ

Questions

What is the difference between a registration form and a booking?

A registration form collects details. A booking reserves a place at a specific time with a limit. For classes and courses you usually want both, which CalendarForm does in one step.
